  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

 

  • 3/4 cup buttermilk (or milk with 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add the sourdough starter and buttermilk (or milk with vinegar/lemon juice) to the dry ingredients.
  • Stir until a rough dough forms. Don’t overmix.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently shape it into a round loaf.
  • Place the loaf on the prepared baking sheet. Score an “X” on top with a sharp knife.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown and hollow when tapped.
