  • 1 tsp red food coloring

  • 1 –2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • For the “Blood” Drizzle:
  • ¼ cup raspberry or strawberry sauce

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a donut pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk sugar, buttermilk, oil, egg, vanilla, and food coloring.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing just until smooth.
  5. Spoon batter into donut pan, filling 2/3 full.
  6. Bake 12–14 minutes until donuts spring back when touched.
  7. Make glaze by beating cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Dip cooled donuts in glaze.
  9. Add two “fang marks” with a toothpick and drizzle raspberry sauce from them like blood.
  10. Serve spooky and sweet!

  • Use gel food coloring for a richer red.
